Forgotten Paradise

Our island has so many beautiful places. Many forgotten, others underappreciated and unfortunately undervalued. We challenged ourselves to change the perspective of many things about our surroundings. Follow us to see what we see in this “forgotten paradise”

Aguadilla, Parque Colón,

This magnificent view was captured last week on January 2019 in the late afternoon past 06:00 pm early sunsets. Some of the beautiful trees that fell after the intense swells during “Maria” are now in the water creating a different seascape.

Because there is always something beautiful abouts things

There is something special about this place that attracts new people everyday and also the same people like me everyday. Many fishermen come here to heave their nets out of the water while other launch their jet skis for the adrenaline rush.

La Marina, Aguadilla 2019

Been one of the fastest cities to become restored after the devastating hurricane; Aguadilla is now updating the scene on all aspects. The experience of becoming a beach life citizen transformed my life in no time.

Into the Journey

This stunning sun set can be captured any day of the year.

This location is called “Isla de Roque” It is only 25 minutes away from our  Airbnb listings.

This historical location is now a monument from the Industrial Revolution in the island and back in the day used to be a merchant marine docking facility. It deteriorated with time but the reef barrier surrounding this bay protected the shore against high seas and strong waves.

Back in those times the blooming sugar cane business used to transport all goods doing cargo operations by hand after been transported in vehicles and trains to this location. This place is located exactly in the north shore center side of the island in the town of “Barceloneta”

In the present many community elders consider this place an undervalued “forgotten local treasure”

Despite the lack of efforts by the local government to maintain the areas; those who appreciate history and the beautiful art of nature enjoy this place for fishing, surfing, photography or just to relax with a beer at a sunset view like this one.

This location is one of many where the Native Taino Indian lived in ancient history dated back in 1493 when the Christopher Columbus Colonization took place and the so called “discovery” more than 524 years ago.

In this place there are many secret hidden things. Minutes away from this sighting there are other more predominant hieroglyphics places that are off limits occupied by the US Federal National Parks such as “El Yunque” rain forest.

January 2020 Aguadilla, Puerto Rico

The surfing spirit is up.

The earthquakes were causing many locals to panic. The islanders are not used to the fact of a natural manifestation like that. Old government structures faced serious damages including schools. Only two fatalities were reported.

Even when this has become worldwide news visitors and foreign locals enjoy their daily lives normally.

Rompe Olas Beach

This amazing location on the west side of the island it’s mostly missed by travelers. Most people traveling stay in the San Juan city area missing some of the most astonishing sunsets on the west coast.

This particular location is at walking distance from one of our listings there. All the surroundings are great and there are many locations that you must check on your bucket list.

The wave breaker

Here we went and climbed over the wave breaker wall to get a clear view of the sunset. Here many people chill with a beer or just relax.
